Well, after having my ass handed to me by my cousin with a 95 Eclipse GSX, I've broken down and decided to do the T-56 swap. I killed him from a dead stop every time, but from a roll, while the auto is doing it's thing and deciding whether it wants to go into 2nd or 3rd, he just pulls away. I want complete control of my car back. Anybody know a shop that can do this? I'm already researching how much this swap would cost me. I've done the swap before on a 92 Z, but I just don't have the facilities to do it. |

They specialize in autos though... You think they'd be able to pull off converting an auto car to stick? Eh, worth a shot, I'll give em a call. Thanks! |

Hymm, in my auto, i can decide what gear I am in with my B&M Hammer... I think that a T56 would be great for you car, how about a ZF6speed like the real Firehawks. LOL Either way, have fun, I wish I could afford that swap. |

>Al, give chris a call at Banner transmissions in Bellmore. I know they've done at least one T-56 swap...maybe more.... 516-221-9459.. also, checkout Hanlon Motorsports in Pa....they sell rebuilt T-56's 610-469-2695 ( or else they can give you some practical info on the swap! )...Also Ed Hartnett is a specialist in manual trans. and rebuilding 610 623-9381. The more info you get the better! But also...a rebuilt 700r4 with a good shifter is good too! |

Awesome info, thanks! I'm gonna give all these people a call sometime this week. I could get a performance 700R4, but there's nothing like popping the clutch and shifting through all the gears yourself. Makes you feel so much more like you're really driving. plus that double overdrive looks good... 6th gear at 70 is gonna have the engine turning at 1500rpms with my 3.23 gears. |

a manumatic 700r4 from ck performance will blow the doors of a t56 and will be faster with the same power, but if ya wanna bang gears and kill clutches then do the swap, it would jus be easier to do a 700 swap stage 2 or 3 like mine... |

Yeah, I know that the auto will shift faster than a human ever could, but I don't want my car to be a drag car. I want to be able to manuever it quickly in the twisties. I love road courses where you really have to get technical. You just can't do that with a slushbox. When you bang your own gears, it makes that much of a difference going into and coming out of corners. |
