if the tranny u have is a 4l60e thats what was paired with the LS1s and in teh vette it made 350 horse

but idk if u wanting to put it in a 3rd gen ull need to computer controler

EDIt Fcuk im sry thats teh automatic trannys

It wont work. The V6 Input shaft has less splines on it.

you need to use the 8 cylinder bellhousing and flywheel and you can get a conversion clutch and pressure plate from Mark at Falcon Clutch in Deer Park

>You need a T-5 that's made for a chevy V8...mustang T-5's won't work either.....26 spline input shaft! Important! 26 spline input has the correct size nose that fits into the end of the crankshaft of a V8 with a pilot bearing. The splines fit the disk of the clutch. You'll see all V8 clutch discs are 26 spline for our sbc cars. V6 T-5's also have different insides which are weaker than the ones made for the V8. Ask me any T-5 Q's 'cause I have one in my car that I bought and rebuilt myself in my apartment! So I know all you're going to encounter!
>Also, as far as power...T-5's from'89 on are stronger than the earlier ones...different internals. Known as World Class T-5's vs the older Non-World Class. Generally, they are rated at around 300hp and 300 tq...but they will last behind even a 400hp motor...just depends on how abusive you drive, tires....They're a good, cheap manual trannie. Realize that unless you live in the 5000 rpm world all the time, the drivetrain only sees part of the motors potential.....cruising speed only means your motor only puts out maybe 150-200hp! So in short....yea, your T-5 will handle a 400hp motor.

Guys thanks alot.....there is a guy at work that drives a 80"s corolla rear wheel (gave details for Sam, he would like that) who told me he has a Z28 sitting in his aunts house with a T5 so I am hoping for that instead....Black zee thanks and if its cool I will PM you questions ( A bunch of them lol )

As far as motor goes its a 350 out of an 84' Burban bored .20 over. Needs to be line honed but the motor as it was (carbed) pushed roughly 360-370 I will be porting and polishing the heads ( 305 heads for increased compression) and adding TPI to the motor hopefully expecting 400hp...Zee should I be looking to strengthen the internals of the T5?

>If you want a beefier T-5...go here: http://www.gforcetransmissions.com/tran_gt-5.asp
Depends on how deep your pockets are! If you're cheap like me the rebuilt stock T-5 will be fine. You're not racing it are you? See if you can find the lighter vette flywheel ( 16lbs vs. 30lbs. for the camaro flywheel ) Less rotating mass means more hp to the wheel and faster spool-up of motor.

>Not sure...but I think the built ones go for $1800...but the gears are hardened and made of thicker steel! Not cheap. The problem with the kits are your T-5 has to be the World Class ones...they don't make kits for the NWC T-5's....what year was the T-5 you were thinking of getting? You should call them and ask them if they rebuild V6 WC T-5's with parts to get it to fit 350's.

>Jericos...the NASCAR trannie...very nice....very expensive too! Manny, I don't have your scratch! The good thing about the T-5 is they were made for our cars...and they have odd features such as the whole trannie is mounted with a tilt or rotation! That's one reason why you can't use the Mustang T-5 in a Camaro...So trying to fit some other trannie on it would require a special kit or parts to be made=more expense! And since I'm cheap and would like to spend my money on other go-fast parts I'll stick with the T-5....you can buy beefed up units now that just bolt-up! Even race ones with straight gears and huge dog ring teeth!
>4th gen rears aren't any stronger than your 7.5" 10 bolt now!
>Checkout the diff in the beefed up G-Force gears in their T-5's (stock is on the left! )Posted Image
