that car had ladder bar rear suspension, not lower control arms and torque arm. from looking at the video a couple of times it looks like the brackets that the ladder bars bolt to (that are supposed to be welded to the rear) broke off. Im guessing the same thing happened to the coilover shock mounts. probably not welded on good.

:iagree: I cant view you tube videos here but I think your talking about the guy at the dragstrip that lost his whole rearend... yeah not a stock suspension would be my guess also...

somebody forgot to tighten a bolt on the rearend, :doh: anyone watch the mythbusters when they tried to do the scene like that from american graffiti, it takes a helluva lot of strength to rip the rear end off like that

favorite movie yeah i saw them do that on MB, one of the best scenes in the movie
