>Meant to ask...why do they always show a manual rack on their K-members? PA Racing, AJE, BMR...Don't you think a power rack would also mount there? I know it's a weight thing, but power racks aren't that much heavier..besides, for a road car...turning 255's with a manual rack would kill my arms!

you also get the parasitic loss of a pump...plus you cannot beat a manual racks steering responsiveness... sort of like sports steering on new cars...when the car goes up to a certain speed, the power steering lessens and resembles a manual rack...good stuff

nope.. i didn't get the brackets for the rack on my k-member... but...i got a way cheaper alternative.. I purchased a manual gearbox and pitman arm off of an s10... cost me fifty bux..as opposed to spending like 500 bux for a manual rack... 'alex'

My powersteering is the last thing I am going to take care of, I have an oil leak from the front of the engine that I want to take care of before doing my power steering. I have bad luck with powersteering leaks coming from the back where there is a fitting with an O ring that always seems to mess with me.
Manny you can keep power steering and an alt with an electric WP, look at mine... Just need to run a belt to both of them.
