What do you guys think? Is this mod worth it to a stock 700R4? I heard that it will lengthen the life of the transmission by making it shift faster. Also, is this job something that can be done by a backyard mechanic like me? Or do I need to leave it to the pros? I picked up a spare valve body to make the necessary mods on, so I can simply swap out valve bodies and spend as little time under the car as possible. |

>You just follow he directions and drill a few holes and make sure the ball bearings go in the right passages. Shifting is much sharper especially when you have your foot down. Line pressure is key to the firmer shifts. |

It's easy if u have a spare valve body otherwise like manny said Vaseline to hold the ballz in if upside down use it anyway so they don't fall out when u instal it |

U CAN DO IT, I'm pretty sure your a little smarter than the average backyard monkey, just make sure the valves and plugs are the same as the valvebody in the trans now. you are going to be replacing springs and spacers and maybe deleting some of the check balls depending on what kit you are putting in there. like the Klown & Alex said use vaseline or trans gel to hold the check balls & gaskets in place for reassembly. replacing the 2-4 servo with the CORVETTE servo also makes a big differance in the 1-2 & 3-4 shift, I just dont remember if you can let the tranny hang low enough to replace it in the car without dropping the unit. |
