car manufacturers are sneaky too though...what they like doing is building these awesome motors that are restricted down to meet the imposed standards...and once the aftermarket industry gets their hands on these cars and start putting on their stuff..then the motors come to life and unleash a shit load of ponies...sorta like the new camaro where just a cold air intake and a tune will garnish 40-50 horsepower.. gotta love it 'alex'

thats LS1s too..not as dramatic but the minet u open up air flow in and out of the engine and tune it u gain some real good power
fcuken camaros..first u love em then it breaks and u hate em then u think u fix it so u think u love it again but in reality its always broke and u still lvoe it but ud still like to drive it into a wall

True! Like the de-tuned 454's from the 70's! It's just that instead of punishing the car industry, they put you in jail for "tampering" with emissions equipment!

Emissons really didn't affect manufacturers until around '74-75 and i don't think they recovered unitl early 90's. Take for instance the '81 corvette for california that came w/an anemic 305 w/180hp. The gas shortage of the 70's really killed us but its nice to see we stayed on topic w/this thread. ....i don't have adhd its just.......oh look a bunny rabbit!
