wondering what type of diff fluid i should use for my 84 trans am. and should i also use gm additive |

I use Royal Purple Differential fluid in my car. If you have a posi, it's always advisable to put the additive in there. The Royal Purple said I didn't need to add it, but I put it in anyway. I figure it couldn't hurt. |

royal purple is good, a little expensive, but worth it for the differential. I would not recommend it for engine oil though, way too expensive. |

Synthetic is good...yes, you need the additive with a posi, except for a Torsen diff....they don't require the additive. |
