I'm going to be installing my rear pretty soon i recently picked up. Borg Warner posi/disc w/3:27:1. Just have a few questions and want to know if i'm leaving anything out. (rear is from an '85 t/a).

1. I know i will need a proportioning value.
2. I'm hearing conflicting stories about master cylinder upgrade or not...currently have rear drums...do i need to upgrade the master cylinder due to increased fluid holding volume??
3. Torsen diff vs. regular locker type posi. Do i need to add the additive? I thought the additive was always necessary.

...just want to make sure i get everything needed before the swap begins..thanks

Torsens don't need the additive...that's for posi's with clutch type mechanisms. Rear discs need a different prop. valve. than drum rears. I don't know about the M/C.

I swapped to a read disc in my car out of an 02 LS Camaro. You def need a new prop valve but the master will be just fine. I will let you know if I can find the receipt for the prop valve I got. Its a stock GM part for a Disc/Disc Car.

borg warner rears use steel cones instead of clutch disc's, I would use the additive.

you need to push more volume of fluid for disc's, the master cyl has a bigger bore and piston for 4 wheel disc, two listings one for drum and one for disc.

your brakes will work with the drum prop valve but to work right
you should use an adjustable valve like the Willwood part

They didn't start using the Torsen until the 4th gens.
