Everything will fit, it's the same rear jus not sure bout all the brakes, and it's wider by 2" on each side. |

It depends if it has ABS or not for the brake hard lines. If the rear came with abs you either need to retrofit your 3rdgen hardliens or get the ones from Ed Miller. If it does have abs your good. you also need to play a littel with the e-brake lines since they are wider than our 3rd gen ones to make them fit in the tranny tunnel or you can get the modified ones from Ed miller as well. |

I believe you'll need spacers or something in order for the tires to fit under the wheel wells |

Dude, go all 4th gen parts, I'll explain in a little. As far as what to look for, the traction control/no TC is your only issue, they all had ABS. This is where it's referenced as 3 channel or 4 channel, as for the traction control, they used "4 channel" cause there was 2 brake lines front and rear, and for non-TC axles, it was 3 channel because 2 front and one rear line. You want a 3 channel axle for ease of instalation. For TC axle though, all you'll need is 6mm bubble lines going side to side on the axle into the middle, and you can use the factory third gen rubber line/t block from body to axle in the middle. It is as simple as cake with the non-TC axle cause it's set just like the third gens with the t-rubber line from body to axle. As far as e-brake cables, it's slightly different i believe for 91/92, but for my '88, all I needed to do was weld a bracket to the body, and used all factory 4th gen stuff. I took the 4th gen equalizer that attaches at the begining of the two e-brake lines to the handle, welded a little metal on both sides to make it slightly thicker, and then drilled out the small center hole bigger to fit my 1/4" factory e-brake adjuster. Slid it on, spun the nut up, and adjusted it after setting the cables in the custom bracket, and I was done. 4th gen equalizer was used so I didn't have to fuss with custom e-brake lines ever again even 20 years from now. No problems for 3 years now, and never happier to have the wider axle. Also, no spacers are needed for the rear. If you are using third gen wheels, you will notice the 2" (lt1) or 1.5" (ls1) wider stance in the back. If you are using 4th gen wheels, they will naturally tuck into the wheel wells like the factory wheels and axle did, but to have matching front wheels, you will need to run at least i believe 1.5" spacers. This probably can be panned out to what I said before, depending on what axle you use, using 1.5" spacers if using a LS1 axle and 2" spacers in the front if you are using an LT1 axle. Just whatever you do do not use spacers on the rear with third gen wheels, you will not be happy with the results, lol. Edited by jons88formyclone, Jul 4 2010, 12:13 AM.

In my case I have an ls1 rear with TC that's why I'm getting those hard lines I mentioned. I might mess around with the e-brake lines or just get the ones that fit. I can't really complain I got the rear for $100 and I'm going from 2.73 to 3.42. |

Yea I stuck with 4th gen cables only because how much of a fad LS1s have become, and with some third gen parts becoming harder to get, I know that the later 4th gen parts wont be hard to get. Then again e-brake being part of safety I doubt they'd stop producing them, but still, 10-15 year newer parts out of the yard was another pro for my swap. |

Man you are going to have to put all that in a PM to me. Thanks to EDD I am doing the LS1 swap maybe this weekend or next don't know yet. EDD do you know if this is TC or not?? I'm going to have to play with the e-brake due to lack of funds right now. I will be putting in my new shocks (KYB GR2) this weekend i can't take the bumps any more. Also here is a question for all of you. The trans has the manual valve body and hooked to a B&M ratchet shift. The question is this car shouldnt start in gear right? Cause it does and i almost toasted the front end again. |

It's a micro switch on the body of the shifter. Pain in the ass to adjust correctly so most people just bypass them. And then you can start in gear. It's a pain in the ass but I have one and it's worth it. |
