theyre parts out of the '87, theyll fit other years. i still got that gray carpet out of the red one, all the gray plastics, they arent pretty but theyre solid. couple misc colored seat belts, formula tailights, 2 left and a right i think. one of the doubles is chipped in the middle, other one is chipped on the black border and youd never notice it. once the blackbird is together ill have a better idea of what i can get rid of but thats about it for now. i have a stock radio, 85mph gauge cluster with 270k on the clock, pretty sure the plastic cover is mint($10, not seperating). red hatch off my bird, had the z28 high rise spoiler on it, glass is solid. ill make another thread when i have a better idea of whats in my inventory. thx guys.

okay, just a guess here but 82-86 either didnt have a 3rd brake light or it had it mounted on the outside of the hatch, 91-92 had the third brake light mounted in the hatch. 87-90 it was mounted on the spoiler?

The third brake light went into production on all cars (not trucks) from 1986.

So yes there was a brake light on the 1986 thirdgens

yes, thats why i said 82-86 EITHER didnt have or had it mounted on the outside of the hatch. 86 was the only year it was mounted on the outside of the hatch (my personal least favorite)
Like alex said, itll fit, it just wont have a 3rd brake light. I was just trying to give an explaination with it.

Just get a high mount third brake light. If the car is '86 or sooner you must have the light or you are just asking for another reason for a ticket

I'm more of a less is more type guy. I want a hatch with no defroster, no 3rd brake light, and no spoiler. I think it makes for a reallly clean look when everything is lined up nicely.
It would be one of those things you wouldnt notice till its pointed out to you, or youll notice the spoiler and then notice no 3rd brake light when you see it has no spoiler, then you look closer and see nice clean and clear glass. :chevy: some people care about those things and some dont, to me its the little things that impress me.

Who cares about the third brake light. You honestly think some B/S run of the mill cop is gonna give you a ticket for something the have no idea about? My uncle and my buddys father are cops neither one of them would have any idea about it.

You can get led lights anywhere. There very common for trucks in which people hide them under the tailgates, etc. Get a red led light strip that is 8-10"inches, that is highway approved and mount it directly on top of the license plate..fashion up a bracket for a clean look and you got yourself a third brake light that is not noticable when unlit but is there for the safety factor. The time and energy it would take to integrate it into the 5" spoiler would cost a lot of money and ruiin the look imo. That spoiler is pretty cool and its subtle enough to not be outlandish to the average person.

my car is gonna be almost completely legit when its on the road, so no worries with cops. i donth think its gonna be a big deal because there is no place for a brakelight on the hatch i have on and never was so i can just say thats how it came. nobody cept you guys can really tell me otherwise lol. but when it somes to safety, the car will be legit. all my lights will work before the car is on the road, signals and everything, headlight motors... only corners im cutting are those stupid exhaust manifolds. pulling the aluminum tubes out so i can have more room to work under there. itll clean the bay up too. i got alot of work to do.... and if anyone needs those things, i have a mint set. was gonna replace my broken ones but yea... not now.

and i know its a different concept for a trans am, but that spoiler looks a little too big for a camaro and i think itll work nice with the bird, seeing as all the second gens had that kind of look

You are telling me that every cop knows that there is supposed to be a third brake light on the wing of a third gen camaro? And on top of that can tell the year just by driving behind it? I highly doubt it that's what I am trying to say. Its not a big deal. Now if you have a third brake light present that is not lighting up its a different story anyone can see that. All the lights that came with the car from the factory are supposed to be in working order. I HAD factory fogs. I don't have them anymore I still pass inspection.

Ive wanted the 5'' spoiler for awhile. I haven't had enough in me to go out and spend the 300+ shipping for it then prep and paint. I love the look. It gives it a little bit of that pro-street look.
