Last month i made a thread "Noticed Issue?"
- Well at a Car Show last Sunday at Lia Collision Center up here i guess you could say i ran into a Guru of thirdgens he has a white 1987 Firebird with the v6. He diagnosed my problem stated on the other thread and said being very definite about it being the Lock up Torque Converter. But then didn't really say anything more other than he had just solved this problem with his firebird about a year ago. I tried to send him this way to join the club and site, but he doesn't even own a computer. - Now my questions are lol, What is a lock up torque converter? What does it do? How much does it normally cost to fix/replace? and add in any more knowledge about the subject, i am entirely clueless to this subject and know absolutely nothing lol. It's pretty much what connects the crank to your tranny and it sits inside your tranny, tranny just come out to change it, and you can get one that is non lockup if you want or a performance one if you want |
