Has anybody seen the new hood that VFN has for sale. Supposedly its only been for sale for a couple of months. The 6'' sunoco style cowl. I spoke with the Jean at VFN and he said hes been getting great customer feedback. Unfortunately the bad part is even though the hood is only 385.00 (pin on of course) the freight is 200 local pickup or 285 to the door. Making it slightly expensive. Oh, and its made to order so 5-8 weeks before you get it. :/ I love the look of this hood. I am seriously considering dropping the money on it. Anybody ever see it?

Yea, I thought so too. He said its the same as the standard 6'' cowl just modeled differently. If you look at the cowls for the 4th gen firebirds and camaros its very similar to that style just larger to look right. It looks as if its got the same type slopes as the larger WS6 hood from them. Looks like they just combined a couple of different already existing styles. I would have liked to see the cowl slightly wider, maybe out to the hood lines/ Edited by BlackMagic, Apr 5 2011, 08:55 PM.

Looks like a skinnier "sonoco" style hood off hawks...not really a fan...prefer the traditiona cowl myself. http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/camaro82-92sunocostylehood.aspx |

Well the 'Sunoco hood was actually made for cars like the 4th gens before it was made for the third gen. It was much skinnier than that of the third gen style, And complimented the the 4th gen body lines. Ive always loved the "Sunoco" style hoods but the height of hawks "Sunoco" styled hood is not tall enough to fit my plans without hacking it. Im waiting for VFN to get a few customer shots in on the third gens before I make the purchase. He said he should have some in a couple of weeks. They pretty much took the VFN 3'' Sunoco cowl off the 4th gen hood, and molded it on a 4th gen hood. I'm curious to see how it looks. I have always liked the way race/blower scoops looked on our cars, they are rounded and are pretty slim. |
