good question the acrylics are what came with the car
i tried the glass they looked good but im just used to the acrylic
they are lighter than glass they are just not as cosmeticly appealing

the light weight is what I'm interested in, when ever I take t-tops out I feel like I'm gonna drop and break one, or like they'll break in the bag.
ever had any safety issues with them? I'm not talking leaky but I've heard from many people that they've had t-tops fly off the car while driving, I figure lighter acrylic ones would be easier to get air under a lift off if you hit a pot hole or something

They fall off or fly off b/c people don't attach them correctly. The lexan ones are significantly lighter but had issues w/the clearcoat/finishing/scratching/hazing.

at my last job I worked with a guy who had a trans am. he took good care of his car and usually checked to make sure the tops were properly secured before locking them. one night he was doing about 130 mph he told me, hit a pot hole and one of them flew right off the car. that's the safety I was talking about, what if I were going 80 and hit a pothole would the lexan one lift off and fly away too.

there always stupidity like my friend with his 442 who didn't put it on right made a sharp turn and it fell off, but I';m talking about properly attached panels that fail at high speeds, just wondering if anyone here has had this issue with lexan versus glass

Its only as good as the latches. If they are worn out then hitting a pothole could theoritically make one become detached. In the event of a side impact collision one would also detach but most commonly its user error when attaching them.

so far theyre still attached not that i break 80 very often or 70 for that matter as far as hazing/scratching etc... yea they suck
but they do block alot more light than the glass and feel like 10 lbs between the 2 of them than again i am super strong :smokingdope:
i picked up these glass ones figuring id like them better but even with the scratches etc. i found i like the plastics or lexon or crypton or what have you  better
soooooooo thats why i was selling them.
but now if one flys off jerry im blaming you
:bang:

I have the Lexans too...lighter up top=better balance. Try a high speed curve with a 20lb weight on your roof next time and see if upper weight makes a difference on how much your car leans!
