I thought I would share some information on the general maintenance on the chassis to null those annoying squeaks and rattles. With trail and error i found that just unscrewing and re-screwing the nuts, bolts, and screws in your interior actually helps with the rattles. Stopped my rattling until the bumps and torque loosen them up again after a few months. Another thing is if you lubricate the chassis at the grease fittings the squeaks go away mostly. I know it's probably a beginners rant but, it does make a difference. The little things make a great difference in driveability and comfort. Also, i know this belongs in the engine area but I thought i'd continue here. http://www.highperformancepontiac.com/tech/hppp_0702_1989_pontiac_trans_am_gta/index.html just some general maintenance for our cars. They explain why and what it fixes. Hope this helps |

...When i switched my dashpad out, just retightening the screws in the center section stopped my center dash vents from automatically rolling down like a rolodex.

lol, i can't even picture that. My dash waves at me when i hit bumps. I'm missing a screw right in the middle (thanks to pontiacs laziness back in the day) Missing screws under my car as well in the fender area. |
