Well what does your car have under the hood? You can drive it in the winter. Drive like a granny tho. The car can spin out in wet road conditions and especially ice pretty easy Thick snow as well. I was goin through my neighborhood and my car decided it wanted to do a 360 when I was making a left turn but that only happened once and luckily I just spun in place. You live upstate there is probably alot of steep mountainy type roads id drive cautiously, the last thing you want is your wheels to lock up when your goin down a hill.

First I'd put narrower tires on...maybe 225's...more weight per sq. inch...more wet grip less skating.

If you have a posi, put some weight in the back and get steelies w/snows...you won't have an issue..stay in the tracks of cars ahead of you and plan out your route to avoid problem areas...every cop car was a rwd crown vic or caprice and they never had isses..it all depends on how you drive.

...and also realize if it is worth it...getting into an accident to go somewhere vs. calling outta work for 1 day or heading in then crashing the car and being outta work for a week..choose your battles Travolta.

Our boys are on salt free diets! Camaro's never seen salt in almost 10 years I had it, and his bird never seen salt in almost 5. Just something I would never do to mine.Always had mulitple cars though, so always had a winter vehicle.

My honest opinion, driving a car like ours in the winter is a sin. However, get yourself FOUR good snow tires, make sure they have the special snow tire symbol on them like so:

Posted Image
If it doesn't have ^^this^^ symbol its not a snow tire.

I say four because proper traction on your steer tires directly affects handling capability and braking ability. Remember when you apply your brakes the weight naturally shifts to the front of the vehicle, if you have a couple bald ass baloney skins up there you'd better be prepared to hit stuff. When you attempt to turn, with out proper traction you still go straight. Seen it, done it. Add some weight to the rear like 1320B4U mentioned and you should be golden. Like black83zee mentioned, narrower tires will help as well. They cut through the snow and slush as opposed to hydroplaning over it. Other than that it comes down to your ability as a driver.

All rookies. My 90 when she was new was my only DD and I drove her all the time.

If you must drive it in the snow get a good set of bizzard tires and any rims as long as the hold air properly rims.

Get youself some free weights about 100lbs, put 50lbs on each side.

Now drive like a sensable person and you will be fine.

i had mine in new york last winter first time mine ever saw snow being a florida car.. i had 235s on the rear with stock rims and i will say having a non posi was hell.. bcus it sat in snow and spun if i let off the clutch while idling O.o but once it got out after pushing etc... it was the most enjoyable thing ever! no traction = lots of sideways driving :P i wud do it again and i will im bringing her back in december :)
