Not sure how well the 'do it yourself' kits will turn out...most cars are curvy and you'll risk the chance of bubbling or lifting of the material if it isn't done right. I'd go the 3m route but thats mainly for stone chips..if your worried about the parallel parking debacle by others, your still be subjected to damaged bumpers regards of whats on there short of a bull bar.

^ I agree. Plus that is alot of coin for those rolls. I would wait til someone make a pattern for a Camaro.

Oops, Didn't see that you are not buying one for a Camaro.

The previous gen Maximas actually came with those from the factory. I would say they are effective for shielding the car againsts rubs and scuffs. The problem with NYC drivers is, they'll hit your car, not get the hint, and keep backing into you until they fit in the spot. I don't think those rolls will protect you from that.

I hate to say it, but you might be better off with those bumper blockers that they sell. You know, the ones that retards drive around with hanging from their trunks? Of course, take them shits off before driving.

Oh and congrats on the new ride. The 200s are actually pretty sweet.

I always get the sudden urge to slam into people who leave those hanging out with my truck and when they pull over say "well I guess that didn't do too much to help now did it!"

The wrap is great stuff my buddy had it installed on his c6 vette. Honestly I didn't even notice it was on there until he told me and I had to rub my fingers over the paint to even find it. It was done by detailing dynamics on long island, and according to them they do it all day long. I wouldn't recommend doing it yourself, especially when they warranty it. Cost him slightly under $1000 to have the full front and rear bumper as well as the rockers panels, and some of the fenders where rocks would kick up. He also had the head lights and tail lights and fog lights done with UV protectant 3mil film. Head lights are clear, fogs are tinted yellow, and tails are a light smoke.

Yeah I know. How fcuking hard is it to open your trunk and flip it back in? Or if you have the full wrap around one, it only take 2 minutes to put them on or take them off.

I've actually seen one of those fall off the car on the highway and hit the car behind it. The driver of the car who got hit was not happy at all and gave a good showing of road rage.

A guy that comes to our shop has that film on his Z4. Its invisible and works well against stone chips and whatnot. Definitely have it professionally installed though, especially since they warranty it.

Stuff works pretty good for chips, nothing else. Only issue I found with it is that it gets hard water spots on it and they are near impossible to remove. Other then that it works, and if the car is black or a dark color you will notice that it is on there due to a different shine to it then the paint and the edges will be visible.

I have this on my DD - entire front bumper and lower part of the hood and front portion of the fenders. as well as the mirrors.

cant tell its there unless you look at the right angle and find the line. I agree it certainly will not do anything for protection against being bumped by another car. its only for protecting the paint from bugs and rocks.

also, def do not install yourself unless you have experience and know what you are doing. Its too expensive to do yourself and not have a warranty on the installation. I would research products carefully because i've also heard some of the cheaper films can develop a yellow tint from sun exposure over time. i have yet to see a photo of this but the word is certainly out.
