Personally i think the shaker is too small for our hood. If it were bigger it might look better. A bunch of people have done this before though.

^ That one was a fake on the bandit II. The new 'shaker' ones for the challengers are bigger to fit the scale of that car. It would have to be a 1 off design to make it proportionate to our cars though...and the shaker portion be fitted on the tpi or carb unit a certain way for it to be visually functional.

Tons of pics on TGO. Just do a search.

The black and gold one ^, would look killer with a Gold Thirdgen Hood Bird decal.

I think the larger Mopar style would be tacky. When it comes to scoops, functionality is almost always a bonus to looks. Stick on scoops are for kids. If you've got a carb, or TBI unit, affix the shaker scoop in such a way as to be functional and allow air into the engine. If you have TPI, affix it in such a way as to be pleasing to the eye when the hood is closed or open. Much like these newer cars come with the plastic sight shields over the engine.

This '68 zl-1 hood could be cool if you cut out the center section and affixed that to the intake but the sides in the rear would be open and would require pins on each side. Don't think they make these for 3rd gens though...they do for c5's.

its functional in the shaker sense but not ram air. all shaker hoods now are nonram air pretty much.
