You can order a kit to replace the internals OR you could purchase a life time warranty at pep boys like spade

I got my rebuild kit from TDS, one side is a PITA to do but I save a boat load of money.

P.S. you may have to drill out one bolt, for some reason the bolt always breaks on one side making it as I said above.

You cant get the 82-84 style anymore. Or newer thirdgens. Let me ask you guys a question. If motor goes up but dont go down its the gear right? And on my motor there is a sware plug connector but theres also a single circle plug connector. Whats the single plug connect for?

check the headlight motor controler(square black box on the firewall next to the brake booster)
usually the problem when headlights go one way & not the other

Another suggestion, try soddering on later 3rd gen style connectors and using the newer motors. My 90 was a hack job and the dumbass PO soddered on the oil style connector on the driver side and it worked. Not sure if it would work the other way around but you could try if you get desperate. HONESTLY id listen to rick he might be onto something and its always good to replace relays.
