Sounds sick.....but what about the naked TB intake? They can't be serious about running it like that? Rain, not to mention road debris would destroy that motor in no time. |

IMO that is too much motor, you will just sit and spin in that thing.. I mean I like spinners, but not that kind. |

Hyundai should stick to commuter cars. Especially if they have to rely on another company's V8 to make it work. |

Dodge did it for years. They put Mitsubishi motors in their cars. Ford and Mazda shared Ima check my edge to see if it's really American made. |

Gotta say what you want about hyundai but in the last 3 years, their line has tripled in sales and styling is unmatched to any other Korean or Far East competitor imo. They are worlds ahead in build and finish quality of Kia (as matt and i saw at the auto show). If honda keeps putting out ugly cars like the new civic (a lot of complaints on the new styling) and toyota doesn't have anything in its class (the solara? kinda like a sebring for the over 55 crowd), hyundai is going to score from the younger generation that can't afford infiniti or lexi' (still no coupe lexus, come on!). Only reason i stumbled onto this was because i was checking out the genesis coupes. I thought the forray into the uber luxury car market was a bad choice w/the equois but checking out the quality of that car (even though buyers of that price prefer a marquis name) its insane for 60k. Matts fathers' sonata for 25k even has rear heated seats?? i mean come on, can't get that sh!t on a 70k bmw. |

You do realize that kia is pretty much re brand Hyundai? kinda like a camaro and firebird. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kia_Motors In terms of speed or performance it okay I guess fast is a relative term. A v6 coup is a 14.2 car according to motor trend Which is a little better then average http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/coupes/1102_2011_chevrolet_camaro_vs_dodge_challenger_vs_ford_mustang_vs_hyundai_genesis_coupe_v_6_comparison/viewall.html . with a 5.0 look for low 13s which again is about average for the industry. I'm not bashing Hyundai but lets call a spade a spade. for its marginal performance over the rest of the cars in its class I would go by looks because the all perform about equally and are all about the same price. As well they all offer about the same level of reliability. In terms of the one at the top i think its just silly. It looks like a ricer who cuts a hole in a hood to fit an engine. Really makes you wonder about the quality of the car as well if they can afford to design a well fitted hood how can you trust they did anything else right. I'm guessing an aftermarket company did this. |

i hope no one thinks this is a hyundai built ls1. tuner shop. hyundai may own kia but the quality of a benz vs caravan ain't the same either and they're under the chrysler umbrella. interior refinements are different between both..acquiring a co and still letting them operate as a seperate entity w/their resources was clearly the example here. cerberus capital owns chrysler if you want to get even further into a majority stakeholder. |

The price for the r spec is ridiculous. Almost 50k for a sedan that can't handle well and isn't that fast. For that price I can get the charger srt8 or the jeep srt8 and be a cool soccer dad |

I'm not saying the interiors are the exactly the same im just saying A lot of the cars not all but a lot of them are just rebadged platforms. its more like saying a 2001 firebird is better then a 2001 camaro . The interior was different on both and the exterior was quite a bit different but they are essentially the same. The same is true about the cts coup and the new camaro but under the sheet metal and behind the interior they are essentially the same cars built on the same platform. I havent looked at them up close in a while but i think its a more relevant comparison then saying a carvan is like a c class. Daimler Chrysler broke up in like 06 or 07. I haven't looked a kia in a long time but I test drove the new sonata but i really can't compare interior quality from pictures. |
