It's time for a roll cage boys and girls I've tried as long as I could not to put a cage in the car but at this point it's not even an option anymore. This is for several several reasons first is my safety, I've seen more than once we're a roll cage has saved a life. Second it's for the car safety the plan is to launch the car on the trans break, With the two-step on under a moderate amount to boost. If it hooks the cars going to twist into a pretzel even with the big subframe connectors I have on it now. Third reason is that most tracks won't let me run after looking at my motor without one, and even if they do let me get one pass I will be kicked off after it because of my trap speed. I went as long as I could without a cage because I always like to look over normal streetcar with no cage. But enough of the sad story I need some help here. The way I see it I have two options option number one would be Montana Brothers in Port Jefferson in Long Island, they did a custom bent chrome Molly cage in a members car for a very decent price and came out very nice. I look I have looked at their work in these guys are very professional the price is also very appealing, a 8 point custom bend chrome Molly cage it was around $1200 My second option would be Perry from Long Island, few members here have had work done at his shop and they say that the quality is outstanding I would rather go to him but I don't know what the prices are at his shop her point for a cage. I have never met him personally but I know a few members here have so if they could chime in with any information that would be great. I'm not looking for anything crazy a nice custom eight point cage with possible door swing outs is pretty much it. I know it's only good for a 10.0 pass but that's ok for now, I don't want to run a halo, being as tall as I am that could be more bed than good for me. So in final, anyone got any good ideas, other fab shops that will do a good job and not have my car for months. Or if anyone is going up by Perry's shop chat with him about it, I'm ready to drop the car of as off today since I made my solid decision. And again any thoughts or suggestions are welcome just keep this on topic. |

I seen Perry's work on some of the cars he did. His welding and fab skills are top notch. I do suggest you talk to him personnaly and get a price in writing that he will hold to. His number is 631.274.5248. Also what I do like about him is he is not going to take your car until he is able to work on it. He does not keep cars just to ensure he gets the job. |

I still can't believe that your car doesn't have a cage in it with all that power. This is not a suggestion it is just a personal preference, don't do the swing out door bar. Looks cheep. But I do understand why you would want one. folding your body like a lawn chair ever time you get in and out of the car gets old really fast and me at 6', I can understand. Are you loosing the back seat? With the cross bar it will be tough for anyone over the age of 10 to get into the back. Are you going to paint it body color or just black. Body color would be cool. |

I'm 6'4 so I'm gonna need the swing outs, plus I can take them out on the street, car don't hook worth a sh!t anyway, got no back seat, and gonna do it black it's got black interior so I want to blend the cage in as much as possible |

Manny, one of our guys just had a cage done at Montana bros and it came out great, killer price too, 1100 for 8 point chrome moly no swing outs. I really don't have time or a tig to do it myself, and s&w race cars makes a 8 point kit for my car in chrome moly for $399, waiting on a response from them if the door bars are curved to clear the door handles and if the kit comes with swing outs for the doors, depending on price I might go that route, but I'd rather a custom kit nice and tight to the car and not a generic kit. I really wanted perry to do it but that just ain't an option now. |

You really don't need chrome moly, the summit and Jegs kits fit really well, I put one in a 87 maro, unless your taking off you armrests the down bars are about an inch from the rests, plus for $50 you can buy door bars with the bends in them, just my OP. |

These were the rollcage setups in the firehawk competition-r packages...bit of an overkill imo. Almost appears it runs parellel to the sill portion since the carpet is raised by the sill area.![]() ![]() ![]() They did to a great job tucking it up on the a-pillars and roof area..not too noticable from outside.

That's more a road race cage then a drag cage, and I can't afford to do the hoop around my head being my size, anything happens god forbid I'm gonna crack my head on the hoop from bar, so only a 8pt for now. |

I went with 1 3/4" x .118" Mild steel just so I could shave some cash and do it myself. Even if that means it will be 20% heavier. Chromoly cages have to be tig welded with pure helium aka heliarc. Chromoly itself is expensive, plus the 1/8" chromoly reinforcing plates I have a honda guy in my shop he used NRG tech in west babylon for his 6pt. They are supposed to be #1 and I have heard of them here and there in passing. They specialize in honda/acura but have done tons of other vehicles. |
