Team Name: Black & Yellow Total Combined Weight: 570 Theme: "Black & Yellow" by Wiz Khalifa Trademark Moves: Rapid Fire From Up Higher- Alawu holds the opponent in a hunched over double chickenwing, and Xenghou unloads with machine-gun like punches to the face until Alawu decides to finish it with a release tiger suplex The Ugly Truth- Alawu Irish whips the opponent and flapjacks him on the rebound into a kneeling Xenghou's knee, smashing the opponent's face hard. Ultimate Uppercut- Alawu gorilla press tosses the opponent as high vertically as he can, and as the opponent falls, he is hit with Xenghou's Surprise! Punch uppercut Chain Reaction- The opponent is Irish whipped hard into the corner by Alawu, and then Alawu Irish whips Xenghou into the corner. Bo uses the extra momentum to land a giant superman punch and immediately gets out of the way as Alawu sprints in to connect with a big corner running boot to the face. Alawu gets out of the way as Bo pulls the groggy opponent out of the corner and hits a T-Bone suplex, lastly followed up by a running big splash by Alawu. Guillotine Gutbuster- Xenghou hits a gutbuster but holds the opponent in place over his knee, and Alawu bounces off of the ropes to deliver a leaping legdrop across the back of the neck, which is then coupled with Xenghou releasing the opponent Finishing Moves: Black And Yellow Bomb- Sitout Powerbomb/Super Flying Leg Lariat Doomsday Device Combo. Alawu hoists the opponent into the air powerbomb position, turns his back to the corner, and Xenghou flies off of the top turnbuckle and sails over Alawu to hit a flying leg lariat as Alawu then sits out to deliver the powerbomb with Xenghou grabbing a hold of the opponent so as to ensure he lands on top of him. The Moment of Clarity- Alawu grabs a hold of the opponent to do his Back to the Roots (Air Raid Crash), and Xenghou gets beside him and shoves his arm in to grab the opponent with an inverted headlock. Alawu and Xenghou then both fall with an Air Raid Crash/Elevated Reverse DDT combo, so essentially a cross between Alawu's Back to the Roots trademark move and Xenghou's Kill the Lights finisher. Name: Franco Alawu (pronounced Uh-Lah-Woo) Nickname: The African Phoenix Hometown: Libreville, Gabon Height: 6’8” Weight: 326 lbs. Date of Birth: April 4, 1992 Pic Base: Bobby Lashley Singles Entrance Music (CHOSEN AS A RE-APPROPRIATION OF FRENCH INFLUENCE ON GABON):"Faiseurs de Mondes" by Alcest Ring Attire: Representing the Gabonese flag, he has solid green underwear-style tights, yellow knee pads, and blue boots with blue laces that go up most of the shin and stop a little short of the kneepads. He also had yellow elbow pads and yellow wrist tape. Non-Ring Attie: Alawu embraces his Gabonese heritage and as such often dresses in traditional garb. This means a lot of loosely-fitting and free-flowing parka-like outfits which are very colorful and intricately patterned. Appearance: Black skin, huge man with bulging muscles and very little fat. Looks like a true freak of nature. Bald head. ![]() Wrestling Style: Pure monster powerhouse all of the way. Does not care much for chain wrestling or anything too technical. He knows basic submissions but is much more about the high impact slams, throws, suplexes, etc. as well as hard hitting, but basic, strikes. Pretty athletic and fast for his size, but the key is “for his size.” Think of him like a well-moving NFL defensive back. It’s enough to give him some real momentum to running attacks, but he isn’t going to out-quick those smaller than him. Along with this goes a very limited aerial set, also consisting of pretty basic maneuvers. Regular Moves: Full nelson slam Backdrop driver Running or standing jumping shoulderblock, from either the mat or the top rope Corner avalanche splash One-arm kneeling chokeslam Running or standing big boot Gorilla press flip slam Headbutt Violently swinging bearhug Repeated backbreakers or ribbreakers Two-handed chokehold overhead suplex Batista-style spinebuster Top rope clothesline (Kane-style) Running legdrop Bow-and-arrow lock Trademarks: Back to the Roots- Air raid crash The Face Fixer- Bicycle kick The Belly Flop- Torture rack for about ten seconds, then flips the opponent forward so that they rotate and fall onto their face, kind of like an inverted version of Sean O’Haire’s Widowmaker The Gulf of Guinea Plunge- Biel throw over the top rope and to the floor Whiplash- Wind-up STO. Alawu bends backwards, pulling the opponent into a slightly hunched over position, before thrusting forward, causing the opponent to flip backwards more violently and land on the back of their neck and flop onto their stomach Finishers: Death Spiral (Matt Morgan's "Hellevator")- Alawu hoists the opponent up and holds them in place for several seconds as if going for a stalling vertical suplex. Then, Alawu shoves them off, releasing them to backflip and look like they will fall on their stomach, but after the release, Alawu regrabs the head, this time from underneath, and regrabs the side to pull them in and accelerate the rotation so that the move ends up in a Rock bottom-type uranage slam with the opponent being slammed hard on the back of their neck and folded up like an accordion. Air Africa- Release powerbomb where Alawu holds the opponent in the air for a moment before launching them upwards as high as he can to make the fall from a much greater height. Similar in principle to the Last Ride, but different in execution. The Boa Constrictor- Violently swinging cobra clutch Biography: Franco Alawu was born, as so many in Africa are, into unbearable poverty and third world conditions. The land of Gabon had once been a free nation, but in 1885, during a wave of African colonialism, the French occupied. From there, the people lived in horrible conditions as their land and resources were plundered and raped by the white man. It was not until 1960 that they became an independent nation, but the damage had already been done as decades of abuse gave way to dictatorships, as was the case with so many post-colonial African nations. This was the backdrop for much of what Franco, his family, and his peers had to endure. By the time Franco got into college, understanding the ramifications of colonialism reached a boiling point, and he became involved with many activist groups and dedicated his time to try to shed many of the Western culture and French elements that had crept into Gabon through the colonial years. He abandoned Western dress and began to only wear traditional Gabonese clothing and held many speeches and panels at college on discussing helping Gabon rise from the ashes like a phoenix and reclaim its roots and greatness. Something that he had always been involved with during his youth was sports. Naturally being a big and strong guy, he developed a likeness for rugby, although at this time, he was not nearly the specimen that he currently is. That happened at college when he finally had access to a gym (previously he did not as his family was so poor that they could not afford to go to a gym). He bulked up and turned into the beast he is, while at the same time began to organize a touring circuit of traditional African wrestling contests among college students, which he excelled in. Post-graduation with a computer science degree, he was recruited via an H1B program to come to work in Dallas, Texas. It was there at a local gym where Alawu encountered Kyle Jorgensen and Carling McMasterson and hit it off. Eventually realizing that they share many of the same political and societal views and upon Kyle and Carling learning about his African wrestling background, they offered to train him in professional wrestling and take him under their wings. At the most opportune time with The Front Line engaged in a battle with the French Revolution of Ryan Reviere (French) and Jean-Pierre Frontenac (French-Canadian) and with two Englishmen (Lord Christian Paupersmasher and Charles Williams) at their side, Kyle and Carling have decided to call up Alawu to even the odds all the while making a grand statement about French colonialism. He debuted along with the Chinese wrestler Bo Xenghou on the Texas Massacre before the i-Pay Per View Pride & Glory and helped attack the aforementioned four men (The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen) in retaliation to an attack against Kyle and Carling at the previous show. Other Info: Trilingual in English, French, and Fang. French is the national language as a result of imperialism and the one that Franco learned to speak first. English was taught as a second language to him through his school years. Fang is the indigenous language to the Gabon, Cameroon, Congo, and Equatorial Guinea region, and Franco picked this up in college when trying to reclaim his roots. He has a thick African accent variant, but his English is clearly understood. As can be understood by the fact that he speaks three languages and holds a computer science degree, he is a well-educated man who has risen above the poverty-stricken circumstances he was born into and has worked hard every step of the way to get to this point. Name: Bo Xenghou (pronounced Zhang-Ow) Nickname: The Human Weapon Hometown: Hong Kong Height: 6’1” Weight: 244 lbs. Date of Birth: August 27, 1993 Pic Base: Zhang Lipeng Singles Entrance Music (CHOSEN AS A RE-APPROPRIATION OF BRITISH INFLUENCE ON HONG KONG):"Truth, Be Told" by Architects Ring Attire: Shorts-style tights that stop midway down the thighs. Colors are a camouflage pattern of red, white, black and gray; the red and white represent the Hong Kong flag. He also has the same deisgn on his knee pads and boots (which have white laces) which go all of the way up to the start of the knee pads. He also has white tape which wraps around his wrists as well as his hands and knuckles. Non-Ring Attire: Wears a lot of jeans and muscle shirts with dark colors like black, gray, navy blue, and dark green, usually with some kind of simple pattern on the front. Nothing too flashy. He wears the occasional button down long-sleeve shirt as well, sometimes solid colors sometimes with stripe patterns. He dresses casual, but not slob-like nor overtly grungy/anti-fashion like Kyle Jorgensen and Carling McMasterson do. Appearance: Chinese male with a healthy, solid build but not completely shredded and bodybuilder-like (but of course, compared to the average man, he is still decently larger). He looks like a well-conditioned, athletic wrestler. Short black hair. ![]() Tattoos: Has some black Chinese lettering on his upper left arm and a black barbed wire tattoo around his right upper arm. Wrestling Style: All-rounder with a particular affinity for boxing, as he has trained in it for years growing up and is quite good with his hands. Does some of everything but definitely likes to throw his fists quite often. Regular Moves: Various boxing punch combos DDT Neckbreaker Tilt-a-whirl sidewalk slam From-the-apron springboard sunset flip Backwards rolling single-leg Boston crab Running facebuster Roundhouse kick to the head Superplex Top rope legdrop Reverse atomic drop followed by a running crooked arm lariat Spear Abdominal stretch Dragon suplex Lungblower/backcracker Trademarks: SURPRISE Punch- When Bo ducks an opponent’s lunging swing, the opponent falls forward right into a HUGE uppercut that sends them crashing down face-first. Bo may try to go for a pin after this and won’t probably get it, but the opponent will still be dazed for a little bit afterwards where Bo can continue the assault. Pride Before the Fall- Kneeling double underhook piledriver The Stone Throw- Scoop slam lift into a releasing toss into the turnbuckles, causing the opponent to hit their back into the turnbuckles and then land on the back of their neck Dragon Slam- Back suplex lift, Bo then turns around 180 degrees and grabs the opponent under the near arm and around the far side of the head as they fall like in Matt Hardy’s “Side Effect” Heat-Seeking Missile- Somersault front dropkick from the top turnbuckle Finishers: Jaw Jacker- Lifts opponent onto shoulder like going for a running powerslam but instead drops into a stunner Kill the Lights- Bo lifts the opponent as if for an inverted suplex but then perches their feet atop either the top turnbuckle or the top rope, and from there, he snaps back and hits a rope-hung reverse DDT The Flexibility Test- Omoplata where Bo turns around to face the opposite direction of the opponent and then reaches out to grab, with both arms, the near leg around the thigh (up high near the groin) and pull it upwards and backwards towards the opponent’s head Biography: Although Hong Kong has come a long way, as has other major Chinese cities, with economic growth and vibrancy over the past couple of decades, not all of Hong Kong has improved. Bo Xenghou is NOT from that part of Hong Kong, but it was nearby. Although he was raised middle class, the sections of the city still inhabited by numerous addicts and other unsavory types was a place he had to go through quite often. Such is the sad story of Hong Kong, which for 150 years had to deal with British imperial rule, which early on was sparked by the First Opium War, the subsequent events of which led to large amounts of opium being trafficked through Hong Kong and ultimately passing into the population and causing a massive opium addiction epidemic that has never been able to be fully shake off by Hong Kong as well as other parts of China. Seeing this shaped Bo early on and got him thinking more politically and about the importance of standing one’s ground and resisting any kind of takeover. Part of this led to anti-colonialist tendencies and an animosity towards the British for this past. In fact, for the first few years of Bo’s live, Hong Kong was STILL a United Kingdom colony (until 1997), which probably put the thoughts in his mind when he was young. As these thoughts blossomed, the other part of his values of standing one’s ground was in self-defense on a personal level, so he started training at a boxing gym and became well-adept at the sport and doing well for himself in some amateur juniors competition. While he excelled in boxing, he also did well in school and managed to get into college at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, where he majored in Mathematics. He intended on becoming continuing towards a doctoral degree but had a change of course when he encountered Kyle Jorgensen and Carling McMasterson in a Dallas gym. They saw Bo working a boxing bag and struck up a conversation with him, realizing that they shared some opinions on anti-colonialism, anti-imperialism, and protecting one’s roots and values from various outside forces trying to destroy them. They trained him in professional wrestling. He debuted along with the Gabonese wrestler Franco Alawu on the Texas Massacre before the i-Pay Per View Pride & Glory and helped attack The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen in retaliation to an attack against Kyle and Carling at the previous show, with Bo’s participation having significant meaning since two of those attacked were pompous, arrogant Brits (Lord Christian Paupersmasher and Charles Williams). Other Info: Bilingual in both English and Cantonese, which are the official languages of Hong Kong. Has the Cantonese accent when he speaks. |
