I don't usually go to theaters and watch movies. I can never sit still, lol. Some joke that it's my ADD at work. Who knows. But I do like The Producers. It was originally a play, but they made it into a movie musical. For those who haven't seen it, you should take a look at it sometime. It's hilarious. But don't look at it if you get offended at poking fun at Hitler or anything. Oh, and Army of Darkness. Freaking classic. |

To be honest, I've never really seen Army of Darkness, but I hear it's pretty good. I had the opportunity to play the game as well, but passed. |

I haven't even heard of most of those movies besides The Producers, are they new releases or have they been around for a while?
Well on a plus note, I have seen Silent Hill, and I haven't even played the games lol. But I quite liked that movie, very freaky and I hear it was just like the games... Which is a good thing. It's stupid when you have movies based on a game or novel or something that was completely different from where it originally came from.I mean, fair enough that sometimes they just don't have the time to flesh out story or characters the way they do from say, the book or whatever but sometimes when you look at the movie, you can just tell that the only purpose it was released was to make money just by attaching a popular title to it. I hate that

The Producers had a more recent remake, but there is also an older one. Army of Darkness is quite old, and probably wins "Best cheap movie effects". Still, it is hilarious, and I highly recommend it. I never saw the FF movie or the RE movie. I know that they're usually pretty bad, lol. That's also why I fear sequels, because they're usually not that great. |

I heard a while back that Battle Royale was going to be remade and Americanized. It's going to suck, no doubt. I'm sure they'll slaughter it. I think the director of "The Fast and the Furious" is doing it. There were a lot of things that they could improve on (mainly special effects and dying), but something tells me that it's going to become worse in some areas. And if they change the names and everything else (possibly, since it would be unusual to have non-Asians having Japanese names). Gives me a slight headache just thinking about it, but I'll watch it before I make my judgments final, I suppose. If I, hypothetically, got a part in it, I could probably go for Chigusa Takako or Souma Mitsuko, both of which have good scenes and could potentially go to an Asian, if the cast is multi-racial to reflect the U.S. I think it would also be cool to be Noda Satomi (just for kicks) or Kotohiki Kayoko (her face expressions are pretty good). There's definitely some things that I'd also miss, too, about the Japanese film, mainly the actors. On a completely different note, I've been reading a book on Musashi Miyamoto. It's pretty good. |

I have a feeling my Theatre class this quarter might actually be fun. I think I get to be a tech guy. Instead of acting, I do the design part. Like, plot, costume, props, etc. I wouldn't mind doing the improvisational part of it, but the tech job is more my area of expertise. |

We have a Drama class at my school. My friends want me to be in it to be officially absorbed into the drama group. Also, apparently, we're doing Oklahoma, but I don't really want to be in a musical. Unless it's something amazingly good. Everyone says I'd be great at drama. I don't really know. Never really did anything serious about it. If I didn't have a part, I could be a stage ninja, too, I suppose. |

Oh, not really. XD Everyone has a little creativity, but it's not like I'm a genius in that department, by any stretch. I sometimes with I was. But my efficiency in working tends to make up for it. I suppose there are advantages to having a mental set, but it can work against me, too. They say that there might be multiple intelligences, too, such as emotional/interpersonal and practical. I suck at the interpersonal intelligence, for the most part, because I think I'm too logical sometimes. My practical intelligence is pretty good, I think, though I can often be misjudged. |

Isn't that the same thing as IQ (Intelligence Quotient) and EQ (Emotional Quotient)? Or am I thinking of something completely different? So, speaking of creativity, I want to buy a "how to draw" book or something of the like. The problem is determining what I want. Mostly, I have two main dilemmas: First, I have the dilemma of whether I want to draw more realistically, or draw more of a cartoony or manga style. Second, whatever I choose I need to have an idea of what I want to search for. Mainly, I want to try and get faces and body styles, but it seems that all they seem to have are anatomy books. I'm not drawing porn, I don't need an anatomy book. So, uh, any advice? |

Get the anatomy books. If you were drawing porn, the diagrams would be more or less in a sexy pose. Or a sex pose. Big difference. Really, you're just getting the basic shape of the human body in your head so you can draw realistically. Unless you wanna draw cartoon, then get the manga/anime. I got 7 of 'em, and I don't use any. At the moment, anyways.. |

IQ is based on reasoning, and EQ is based on your ability to understand and control your emotions, as well as impulse. I'd suggest both "how to draw" books and anatomy books. After all, you need to learn both technique and what things actually look like, if you're going to draw people. Anatomy books are pretty specific, so it's nice. Plus, it's not like they're porn. Sure, they might have nudes in them, but trust me, it's a lot better that way. Some people just don't understand, for example, how proportions should be, how the arms and fingers work, etc, and if you actually want to draw people well, you'll have to gain some sort of understanding about it. Of course, the only exception to this is if you are just copying a picture, but that's no fun at all. But as a start, I'd do techniques first. It's kind of frustrating when you set out to try to draw a person and you know what you want it to look like, but you just don't know how to transfer that onto the paper. Techniques are the foundation (in other words, how to make hair look like hair and not like a bunch of silly lines that mean nothing). Practice on some pictures, replicating them, and then I'd hit the anatomy books. Personally, I would choose realistic drawing over anime/cartoony drawing any day. It takes a lot more skill to actually be able to sit down and draw, say, a person in realistic ways instead of just drawing two lines for the eyes and a lopsided "D" for the mouth. I don't know, it's also easier for me to draw realistically than anime-styled, any day. |
