Lulz. "Show those anime bitches up", you say? XD As much as I would like to do that, I don't know. A part of me is going, "ZOMG, anime stuff leaked into real life = not cool". I also get the feeling that once Haruhi hits the U.S., it'll be popular here, too... for better or for worse. I like Haruhi, and the ending Hare Hare Yukai, but I don't know if I like it enough to, uh, do a dance of it and put it on Youtube. I've seen the Gundam version, the one with the action figures, the piano one, and so forth. Quite a lot of hype. So, I guess I'll consider it... |

Woohoo, I took a Rorschach inkblot test. Like, the actual one. I have yet to interpret my responses, though. There's a big packet that explains and interprets some of the responses, apparently. But man, those things were weird. I felt like saying for my answer, "This looks exactly like ink that was put on paper." Just wait, the results will be, like, "You're a sex-obsessed freak! Quit your penis envy!" |

This hospital (the place I work at) has put a block on just about everything.. I'm surprised they didn't block this, but hell.. even Photobucket or Ripway are out, so I can't see any of the forum images.. Jeez... And you know what.. I'm taking off the double-post block because right now, I'm sure we could use the extra posts instead of waiting for someone else. But I'll save the code for when we get more people. |

It's not just a rule that I follow; after being on the net for, like, 6 years, you kind of get used to the no-double-posting rule and it becomes an instinct. I'll keep it in mind, though. Actually, yes, one of them does look like a butterfly. I was kind of split between saying "butterfly" and "flying squirrel at an oblique angle" or something. Lol. I still have yet to interpret them, though, because I have so much I'm doing right now. |

And now we talk about anime conventions, ones that we've been to and ones that we might like to go to. Ugh, Sakura-con is when I go to Alaska for spring break, I just realized. That sucks major ass. I want to go, and my older brother is staying here, so why can't I? *sigh* Oh well, life is a bitch. Furthermore, Auroracon and Senshi-con are both in Alaska, but I'm down here when they have it. Jeez, I just don't seem to get any breaks. Well, reason why is that I'm looking for more J-rock and J-pop. There's always at least someone selling CDs. Since I can't buy on the net, it's really the only place I can look... plus, the freak shows, games, etc. Only one that I'll be here for is Kumoricon. I'm slightly wondering if I should dress up like an idiot, just like everyone else. Only, better than everyone else. A redefinition of social norms changes everything, and it was really weird, going to Auroracon not dressed (in cosplay). When in Rome, do as the Romans do, and when in idiot land, do what the idiots do. I always think of how ridiculously silly, sometimes to the point of stupid, some people look. Only about, like, 2% of the cosplayers out there are worth even talking about. But it makes me wonder, if they look so stupid, then could I do it better? I don't really know. At any rate, this is a big question if I decide to go to the con in the first place. I think having a ton of different experiences are important, which is also why I'm resigned to other things, like eventually dating and going to prom and things like that. So it would just be for the experience and the challenge. If so, then I'd probably go as XP-tan (OS-tan), Haruhi or Mikuru (The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi), Motoko (Love Hina), Sakaki (Azumanga Daioh), Mitsuko or Chigusa (Battle Royale), or Youko (Cross Channel/Nanaca Crash). It would be hard to pick. If I wasn't going in a group, then I'd probably end up being XP-tan or Mitsuko or Chigusa, since I tend to view everyone else as needing a group. Motoko is almost out of the question, since I don't really want to dress up as a kendo girl; it's probably way too overdone anyways. And I don't know much about Youko, so that's almost out of the question. It would probably take me the longest to make Mitsuko's or Chigusa's, just because they both have a blazer and a halfslip. Shortest would be Haruhi's or Mikuru's, probably. |

Ah, I'd love to go to E3. Lol. And yes, I did see that. XD Actually, it's pretty amusing. You get a bunch of stupid people all in one room, doing stupid things. People watch shows of people doing stupid stuff, but it's even better in real life. Only thing you can't do is make some degrading remarks out loud, but it sure is a laugh. And even if 99.9% are worthless weeaboos, there are a couple of cool people you can meet. Plus, anime conventions aren't just about anime. The one I went to had a game room as well. So you have people gaming against each other. I didn't get to play many games, though, because we were walking around, looking at people's costumes that were poorly put together and were like "lol" in our heads. And sometimes out loud. |

In that sense, I don't know enough about anime to really go into any conventions. I certainly would not dress up, but.. hey, if you were to invite me to go there, I bet I'd be the coolest friend to go with you.
Ha. The thing about me is, I'd get kicked out, because making degrading remarks about the topic at hand is what I do best, yo. I wanna go to E3 just to play the games and make fun of video game weeaboos, and I know they have those because as I talked about before, no one gives a shit about your stable full of golden ostriches. |

I don't think they'd kick you out for degrading remarks unless you were being, like, really disruptive. Lol. Free speech and all. Heck, I'd probably join you if the outfit was uncool enough. I'd only go if my outfit was pretty good. But there's too many of these obese weeaboo girls dressing up as Sakura and stupid guys dressed up as Naruto. I'd be, like, "Try moar, you're doing it wrong." The friends I'd go with wouldn't be the weeaboo ones. I think the ones that like maybe one anime or two and not heavily aren't really worthy of the weeaboo title. Frankly, I don't even associate with all the weeaboos at my school. I say hi, to be polite, but that's about it. They call me "Super Asian" and "Master Ky" though... There's a few weeaboos that are associated with friends of mine, but my friends aren't weeaboos. The weeaboos are really strange. Like, one of them has her eyes glued on me, like, half the time that she's around me. And she tries to strike up conversations with me about anime, but it kind of just falls apart because talking about anime in real life is not cool. I don't mind it on the internet quite as much, because nobody's watching you (except you, Mr. President). Still, if one of those weeaboo girls were to IM me, I admit I'd probably try to slide my way out of it. |

Hahaha. That's awesome. Classic stuff, yes. In any case, I would never cosplay, but I do make fun of those who try and fail. And what I mean is basically how you put it - fat girls as Sakura or jackasses as Naruto. I say, if you have a certain body type, go as that anime character. Don't try to emulate --or in the case of the weeaboo, "imitate" another character that doesn't.. well, fit. For instance, if you're morbidly obese, Mrs. Puff from Spongebob is your best bet. Spongebob isn't an anime, I know, BUT it's the only character that can do you justice. The DM has spoken. |

I agree. Some cosplayers say that it's not right to discourage those who don't look it, but I say BS on that. I've seen an Asian Cloud that was awesome, but that's it. Really. Pick people who you look like. It's hilarious, because the community of weeaboos are, for the most part, full of unattractive, overweight/obese people of all sorts of ages. But many are too old for the characters that they play. This is fine, but only if you could look the age of whoever you're doing. Fortunately, my Asian-ness translates to age ambiguity, which could work in my favor for a while. But seriously, Naruto is, like, pretty young. Or young-looking. A lot of people who do him are just too old-looking and ugly anyways. Nothing makes me die inside like a fat Sakura, running around and pretending to pull off moves. Or people in general that can't look like their characters. Which is why I picked characters that I could actually be. What a concept. Mikuru would be kind of a stretch, because of her hair color, though. My top picks would be XP-tan and Haruhi before she cuts her hair, or perhaps Chigusa, in that order. All would be decent. But the clothes would have to be made well. Nothing is worse than a shitty-looking, cheap costume. |

You've never heard of an OS-tan before? They're characterizations of operating systems. I'd be XP. She's known for her huge appetite and breasts, because she uses up so much memory. She's on the left in this picture: http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/5684/1168521218962kk5.jpg Haruhi would be good. I have two people in mind to do Mikuru and Yuki. Together, we'd be unstoppable. The S.O.S. Brigade will certainly gain attention. Heh. Thing is, Haruhi and crew wouldn't be hard. I think I know how to make the sailor collar. Then it would be just a matter of finding shoes, socks, doing sleeves, and the skirts. I suppose Yuki has a cardigan that she wears. Plus, Haruhi has the headband with ribbons and the armband that says "Brigade leader" or something on it. All-in-all, it wouldn't be that hard to do, assuming that everyone would have their own white blouse. |

I would love to go to a con sometime...I don't really look like many characters though. I think I could pull off Yurimeshi, except I don't have a Widow's Peak style of hair. Although he does also have a messy hair style at times, but it doesn't seem that synonymous. Don't know where any are though, and costumes cost money, so eh, maybe someday. |

There's a surprising amount of cons out there, actually. If they have cons in freaking Alaska, of all places, then chances are, there's a con around you at some point. It's difficult, because you have to have both money and skills to sew. Or you could commission, I suppose, but I think that's kind of like cheating. It would be really cool if I could go as Mitsuko from Battle Royale, but I'd want a fake sickle, like the one she carries around for all of the movie. Or a gun. But the sickle is, like, her signature weapon. And Chigusa has a switch knife in the movie... I don't think they'd allow me to have one of those at the cons XD. And if I did go as Chigusa, I'd like to have someone go with me as Sugimura... Hm, my brother, maybe. That would be a little weird, come to think of it. Which leads me back to the S.O.S. Brigade. If the two could go, that would be neat. And best part about it is that it's not like it would be a heavy costume with a lot of layers. In fact, everything should be detachable, so if we decided to go out any place to eat or something, we wouldn't look like idiots. That part would be a killer, if we went out to a restaurant looking like fools. I'd never wear a cosplay outfit outside of a con. Ever. Unless it's Halloween or something. |
