Social well-being is our biggest concern. And our second biggest is of course the career opportunities. I just want somewhere where we don't have to worry about much of anything. There are such countries like that. We just gotta find them.

And I don't like Tony Blair anyways. He sounds pompous each time he talks... bleh.

I'm at work... not really doing much of anything. It's been a nice, slow day today.

Me and Nell got to talk for about 2 hours this morning, which was the first time that's happened in weeks. But god, it was nice..

Unfortunately, I found out she probably won't be able to move here until 2010. So we'll be visiting each other off and on till then. She's still coming here next year. We're gonna take a road trip to Seattle before we go to Chicago. She wants to see the Starbucks headquarters and such. I'll be going to Singapore a couple days before so I can help her get prepared on what she'll need, and so her family can meet me and know who it is she'll be spending time with.

That's the gist of it so far.

Thanks. :) It'll be about $3600 altogether. With the whole travelling expenses, mostly. Like, plane tickets and shit... damn. But I can do it.

Sounds fun XD. Man, I wish I could do a trip, but oh well. If all works out the way I think it will, I'll probably end up going to University of Washington up in Seattle anyways.

I always planned on going someplace after high school (i.e. Japan) with friends, but I decided that it wouldn't be the best of ideas, lol.

Haha. Well, if you're up in Seattle, maybe we can look you up. :P

I was goin to New York to visit a friend, but she emailed me today and cancelled on me. Ah well. Me and Nell will see her in Brazil, she said, so that still works. Me, Nell, Pri, and her friend were sposed to go to the Amazon and take a boat down the river.

Awww! All this talk on travelling makes me want to go somewhere! Especially with myself doing this course, the urge to travel just keeps building and building on me :P But I can't, I need to work and save up for more important things that need to come first :aww:

Ah, sounds so neat...

I'd just like to travel to experience different cultures, particularly, uh, different culinary dishes, lol. I have quite an interest in international foods. And also contemporary things.

Unfortunately, I won't be in Seattle a year from now. Too bad I'm not a senior this year. Oh well. My place is about 3 hours away by car :P. Not really desirable to visit, either. *sigh* The 'couve is a boring place.

QFT. My God, there is never anything to do around here. No arcades, and really only mini-golf from time to time - everything else either costs too much or is impossible to get people to do. It's very, very sad.

The only possible benefit in living here is that we're close to Portland, lol. That's it. Which would be less better than living in Portland itself.

It seems that there were more "happenings" in Alaska than here, which is ironic, because Anchorage is really spread-out, but not that bustling at all. Or maybe I was just in the crowd that knew about everything. *shrugs*

Only thing to do here is go to the mall. My bro occasionally likes to go to Lloyd Center to play In The Groove, of course. Other than that, not much... Kaity said a while back that she was bent on getting me dressed cute and then taking me down to downtown Portland, but I was like, "Jeez, you're crazy..." Portland has Powell's book store, but there's not much else that's a whole lot better...

Speaking of Portland, the last time I was down there, we were at the local PBS (that's Public Broadcasting System, for those not in the know) studio. My friends and I were there to film a quiz-show thing called "High Five". It's basically like Jeopardy for high schools, but the problem is that nobody seems to know what it is. My mom told people about it at her work, and the majority of them were like "WHATS THAT IVE NEVER HERD OF IT BEFOAR". That's really a disappointment because we had a really good time playing against the other team.

We actually crushed the other team, although we made it into the playoffs by virtue of a wild-card since we didn't score in the top 6. From what I hear, because of sattelite and all that, it's actually going to be shown around the world (but yeah right, it's not like anybody's really going to watch it unless their either bored or stoned, which again is a pretty sad thing). Even then, our show isn't going to air until March.

I mean, hot damn, I get to be on TV. Even if there won't be a lot of people watching it.

Lol, seriously, people haven't heard of it? Lol.

Well, I suppose I should know about it. My cousin was on it, like, not too long ago. Maybe half a year ago or something like that. Pretty crazy stuff.

I don't know, I don't think I'd be cut-out to do those kinds of things. It's strange. I can debate, sometimes, but I can't come up with an answer so quickly when asked a random question, even if it's something like "From what country are samurai from?" I'm sure there's some sort of explanation dealing with the chemicals in my brain and whatnot, but whatever. :P

*sigh* In spite of it, I'm still a geek. I'll graduate with 26 credits (actually, more, if we get a half credit for passing that silly WASL thing...), and I'll probably double up and do either two sciences or one science and AP economics or something. I would double up and take two math classes, but math just isn't something that you can skip ahead in... And I particularly hate how math books are written. I actually can absorb information out of any textbook I've ever picked up, except math textbooks. Ugh.

Oh maths text books are evil... I remember trying to read them when I was a senior and I was like "...WTF!?" I only just barely passed, because not only did the text books not make sense but the bloody teacher talked just like the text book!! GAH!!! I had learnt maths from a different teacher for 4 years through high school and I always got A's because I could understand him. But my final year, where it all mattered, I didn't get my usual teacher and got this other dickhead who only just started that year as a teacher at my school and yeah, sadly I got him for maths... So evil... I tried my best though, I sacrificed my lunches to have him teach me one on one, and I'd spent 6 hours at home on it... But then I'd have no time for my other studies so either way I was screwed

It seems that math textbooks are just infamous, lol. I've usually had fairly good math teachers. My current one is alright. He tells us that we have to read out of the book to learn stuff though, and when that happens, he's like, "Guys, you should be able to do it. Even though math books suck. This one's good." Yeah, right. Well, I don't do too badly, I guess.

I like my psych textbook though. It's interesting.

It's funny, I'm working with tourism textbooks right now, and I've found they are actually quite useful. Everytime I got text books at school, I hardly used them unless we had to do exercises in them or something. These textbooks that I'm using as well weren't originally produced in english as well. So it's funny comparing :P

I never bought my math textbook yet. And I rarely use my Psych textbooks, but we use our English one often.

I have to carry my math text around on a daily basis. My book load isn't as bad this year as it was last year. Last year, these are the books that I had to carry around in my backpack on a regular basis:

Precalculus (in excess of 1200 pages)
Spanish 4
History of the Americas

Add in three or four notebooks and my English novels and that's a huge backpack that I have to carry around on a regular basis. It hurts my back :-_-:
