Fortunately, I'm not subject to those kinds of people. The only thing that comes close is when guys try to get close to me so that they can try to, uh, woo me. I guess it's kind of annoying; I'm pretty honest and upfront about my intentions, and I don't try to snake around things unless there's obvious bad consequences for doing so. Did we mention rich kids already? I don't mind rich people, really, since they usually work their asses off to get rich (I'm pretty sure most rich people are self-made and not inheriting that money). But people who get rich by association or inheriting can be pretty haughty and unrealistic. It kind of goes along with the spoiled thing. |

I think you did mention rich kids before, but I agree anyways. I like knowing the money I have is the money I've earned. And the whole "backstabbing" issue came into effect big time the other day.. wow.. I'm sure I won't be working during the week much.. |

A pet peeve I'm finding harder to ignore is people who abuse things, especially government aid. I have a couple friends who not only get 200 and some odd amount of dollars a month in the form of a bridge card to buy food, but they also get almost the same amount in cash through some loophole they've exploited. They're too lazy to look for jobs and now that they're in college use that as an excuse, even though during the summer they could have easily found work. They don't need the money since the dude's mom pays for practically everything and they live at home by themselves. They justify the bridge card aspect since friends often come over and eat, but they don't buy barebones grocery ingredients with it, it all goes to steak, chips, pop and other non-necessities. It might only bother me a lot right now since they've been acting like selfish pricks lately, but really, the people who don't really need government aid are always the ones that seem to manage to get it, and people who definately need it way more are denied. We don't get it at my house, though that's only because my mom is too prideful, but I have a couple friends who could use it whose households don't qualify. Argh. My tax dollars go to my asshole friends ordering pizza and Chinese food with government cash and not even offering me any. |

Ah yes, I know people like that. It gets old, really. I know my family could definitely use it, at least enough to get us back on our feet, but.. *shrug* Apparently it is hard for poor people to get grants for anything anymore. |

Unfortunately, it happens. Quite a bit. But people will do what they can get away with, so it's definitely not surprising. I think it's hard for poor people. Granted, I'm not poor, but I can see it. I know a lot of people think that poor people are lazy and deserve it, but life's a bitch. It would be awesome if we all were really the masters of our own destinies, though. I decided that one of my peeves has to be confirmation bias to the extreme. I can understand some people brushing aside small arguments against them, but rejecting strong evidence against you while embracing weak, weak arguments is not the way to go. There's a lot we don't know, but for all-intensive purposes, I would pick science over psudoscientific garbage. |

Well, for example, my mom grasps at straws. She says that the "scientific basis" for western medicine is just a huge lie, and then she says that she believes in all this controversial stuff like unconscious minds working against you (kind of like Freud) and repressed memories. But that's not all. She also believes in energy, and is quick to insist that I also feel energy. It's like, a psychic tells her in Anchorage that she surely is able to see trees from her house. That's correct, yes, but that's because it's nearly impossible to live anywhere in Anchorage without being able to see mountains anywhere, since the air is very clear and they practically surround us. Lol. I guess the heart of my frustration is grasping at small straws while ignoring everything else. And "for all-intensive purposes" is exactly as it means. If you think about it, theoretically, anything could be possible. We assume too many things. One of them is that humans can sense everything that there possibly is. If we can't sense it, then to us, it does not exist. In the human perspective, this is correct, but if there was something else, it would completely slip past our radars. We assume that we have original memories (I think this is quite an interesting idea, because it could mean that the earth could have been created just minutes ago) and that there isn't something larger out there (i.e. we're not, like, brains in vats). In other words, just because there's no proof doesn't mean that it can't exist; it just escapes our senses. |

I can't really relate to the grasping straws thing in the sense you're using, but in the sense of people looking for anything they can use against you to avoid having to listen to what you have to say I can. My mom is definitely an alcoholic now, though she won't admit it. She makes plans with my little brother and then breaks them simply because she stays at the bar drinking instead of coming home, which totally isn't cool. I don't really care if she breaks her word with me, but the simple fact that I have to wait half an hour or an hour at the bar once she is ready is very annoying, and any time I try to say anything she "attacks" me however she can, half the time making things up about me being completely irresponsible and whatever else. So I suppose a giant pet peeve is the notion of people drinking to have fun when in reality they are drinking as an excuse to be irresponsible. |

Hah, that would be my mom. She says that her problems are caused by me. I won't deny some of it; I'm incredibly stubborn. But I can't be the root of all the evil that's happening to her, or whatever. I got one. Staring. Creeps me out terribly. I know that little kids don't know that it's impolite to stare, so I can let that slide, but adults? It's like, keep your eyes to yourself. I was walking down the street once and this guy (who was at least 30+) was staring at me, and as he passed me, he tried to look down my shirt, I think, because he was hovering over my front and looking down. I don't think I do anything to warrant any staring. |

Haha. DDD? Well, I'm sure someone out there possesses those. After so long I don't get what the point of having absolutely huge ones are, unless you're getting the surgery for porn or something. And then you always hear about people getting reduction surgery later because of back problems. Geez. My brother has missed the bus the last, like, 3 days in a row, and comes and wakes me up and asks me to take him to school, so that's kind of a pet peeve. I've said no, mostly since it's so incredibly cold out and I don't want to go outside, not to mention my car takes a few minutes to warm up anyways. I wouldn't care if it were warmer out, I've done it before. I referred him to my mom this morning and I heard her yelling and complaining, I almost felt bad. |

Oh, don't feel bad. You're not the parent :P. I think DDD's do exist, but they're probably either on people with surgery or obese people with jelly rolls. Frankly, I don't like some of the people's looks that are models and when people are like, "Man, is that what I'm supposed to look like?" The model image is so unrealistic. I mean, in my perspective, some of the models are acceptable, but some young women who are in the bottom 5th percentile for their rank shouldn't be setting the image for others. I guess I don't get irritated with the models, but just with people who don't realize that it's not realistic. I mean, somehow, I can't possibly imagine not knowing that it's a small proportion of women. |

DDDs rarely exist naturally, but they do, and oddly enough, some girls who are NOT obese still carry them. And I can imagine the back problems.. I have a friend who has a decent body and very big boobs. As for the whole transportation thing.. yeah, I get stuck in that position too. But I guess fortunately/unfortunately, we got hit with a big snow storm (6+ inches) and my transmission went out RIGHT before it hit, so yeah.. I just don't wanna miss class on Thursday.. |

Does anybody else get irritated when people tell you how you feel? There's some people that insist that they understand your thoughts and emotions better than you can, even if they hardly know anything about you and aren't certified to make any sort of accurate judgment. I'm not talking about, like, paraphrasing, but more of the "You say ~, but you really mean ~" sort of thing. So obnoxious. And they always think that they're right. I commonly get people telling me that I'm scared when my lack of interest in relationships is dragged into the conversation. Ridiculous. I can't be scared because nobody holds that kind of power over me. Hypothetically, if someone did, then yes, but it hasn't happened yet. So it could be a reason in the future, but definitely not right now at this moment. Of course, their logical reasoning has been turned off and/or the conversation changes, so I guess it's not like an eternal evil.

I kind of learn to laugh it off, even when it's real. I don't really wish to lose face over these kinds of things.
