Ultrasonic Sound - A Bf Field Research Considerati

As you may know, humans cannot hear ultrasonic sounds, but animals can.

As shown by tests conducted with very expensive ultrasonic meters by a leading Bf researcher, many of our movements and most all electronics make an unbelievable amount of ultrasonic sound. I use the word “unbelievable” because I and other Bf researchers witnessed the test. The test showed that many quiet movements we may do while researching Bf in a wooded area or a field, do make “relatively loud ultrasonic sounds.” Some examples include quietly rubbing you shirt or clothes with your fingers or hand, quietly walking on a lawn or in a field or any surface that isn’t hard like a rock surface, and numerous other movements you may make in the while researching Bf in a wooded area.

This leading researcher got interested in ultrasonic sounds after a couple of incidents that happened to his video and camera taps (equipped with passive triggers that don’t give off radiation, and are triggered by sensing body heat). In one example, a deer looked directly at the equipment and the deer’s ears started to wiggle and keep on wiggling. In another example, something tapped on his surveillance trap (video and camera trap equipment) in the middle of the night and away from civilization. Apparently, this thing, which tapped and wiggled the equipment, would not show itself. This leading researcher subsequently found his video, camera, and sound recording traps were putting off substantial amount of ultrasonic sounds in both active and sleep modes. As I seen, these electronic devices and other electronics were subsequently ultrasonic sound proofed.

Let me leave you with a disturbing thought for me. A thought that someone told me (in so many words), tasted alright when it first went down, but as it comes up again and again like really bad tasting greasy food it has bothered me. This thought is: some researchers are satisfied with going out, walking a few trails through the woods, putting up a few camera traps, having a few hot dogs and beer while communing with the gang, and then rapping it up by saying some things like “it was nice to see you, we gave it a good try, we will have better success next time.” This thought initially feels good because it is always great to have some fun among friends, but it doesn’t feel so good when I think that what we are doing may have a very low probability of success. When considering how unsuccessful camera traps have generally been, the above information may be one of the many critical activities we are missing when conducting a Bf expedition of a hot spot. Other activities may include field tactics that minimize ultrasonic sounds emissions we create when making quiet movements in the field.

T: Some excellent points.

With the number of bigfoot/sasquatch researchers supposedly using camera traps out there in their field research these days one would think a decent image or two of the beast would have been captured by now if the devices worked.

I firmly believe you may have hit the nail on the head when you said these devices and our own careless movements in the woods might emit loud ultrasonic sounds that would give us away.

During my planned research a little later this year we will remain seated and still at all times once in the area thought to contain bigfoot/sasquatch. Hopefully this will help reduce the chances of us generating ultrasonic sounds that could spook the creature.

Good luck on your research, Bushman!

Bushman,

Your are on the right track there. THere are plenty of sightings from hunters in tree stands. The less noise made in the woods, the better chance of an encounter. One of these days, I am going to do something crazy, like spending the night in a tree stand in a Bigfoot hot spot. We (JVD, Cyborg, Frank the Tank & I) are currently doing a small experiment in our area. We are trying a baiting technique with peanut butter in a jar with a lid screwed on tight. We have hung it off of a tree about 7-8 feet up. I am just interested to see what happens. Never know!!!

I don’t know about BF, but deer love peanut butter. I’ve seen people use BP by smearing on trees and deer don’t seem to be able to resist. Of course you know hunters would never use this as bait. :angle:
