I don't know if this will work. I've uploaded them to my blog page and the address is attached. Josh can you maybe copy them onto the forum from there? I have no idea what stepped here and will appreciate any comments or ideas. What is interesting to me is the dry mud back splash on both pics. goldie |

Appears to be five identifiable toes in Pic #1. I do see the mud splash back you are talking about. Very interesting pics. Did you take any measurements. Can't really tell what the length and width are. Good job! |

I myself don't see anything looking like toes. I can't make out much in pic one except what looks like a heel print from a shoe or boot maybe. In pic two the pics aren't close enough to the tracks either but look like scuffed up shoe or boot prints also. The shots need to be a lot closer to the prints to really tell anything. |

The pictures are a little far away to determine anything. The best I can say is something disturbed these areas. Sorry Goldie, I'll try enlarging them some to see if I can pickup anything. Mike |

Thanks for all your comments. They are very much appreciated. I will try to get closer to these tracks next time. I have problems with my back right now and worry about it going out if I do to much bending over and that would not be a good situation to be up in those mountains alone without a phone flat on my back. Would those of you who see the shoe and boot marks maybe have a way to red mark them so I can learn how to read these kinds of tracks better. I don't think it was a sasquatch footprint but the print that I did wonder about looks to me almost like someone taking a scoop out of the mud with their finger you know like in a chocolate frosting bowl. I was thinking even maybe an animal nose of some kind? The dried mud is kind confusing unless someone shook their muddy boots. I did take prints the next time of either horse or cattle and they were by the same pond only a little closer to the water and they went down really deep about 4 inches maybe and I would think a squatch would be even deeper. The depth of some of the prints that are hard to identify make me think it couldn't be a sasquatch. Thanks again for your comments.

I wish I could figure out how to copy the picture and draw on it and repost it so that I could show you all what I see. When I try, it tells me that it cannot accept the file. Oh well. |

That is interesting what you are picking up or seeing in that picture. I just saw the finger type indentation. Where are the boot prints that others are saying they see. Wow this is interesting how different people see different things about a print. I want to go out to the pond and take my shoes off now and see what kind of prints my bare feet would make. Now this is where assumptions can trip you up when looking at pictures like these. I would think that the sticks and stuff would have been pressed into the ground or flat. I did see cougar and bear prints around that time. It is a lot harder to analyze prints than I thought. Thanks everyone. |

You are right, different people will see different things. I am not at all saying that this is a definate BF print. I am just simply analyzing the print. It is very hard to analyze a BF print in a photo anyway. I have taken photos of suspected prints and they just don't look the same in the photo as they do in the field. |

On the pic willard posted.........Towards the left side of what he has outlined, the second indentation down looks like the heel of a boot. Going by the second pic Goldie has posted that would have to be one monster track as her leg or someone elses is in the shot. If this were an actual track outlined the small peice of wood would be mashed into the ground and the vegetation crushed. What is outlined is wet, leading me to beleive that maybe it was made recently, not giving any vegetation time to grow back. |

That is the conclusion I came to earlier Fletch about the piece of wood would be mashed down. And in mud like this it would be much deeper. I think. I was doing some research earlier and came across the term vernal pool. This was a new term for me and they described it as a pond that has a dense clay substrate that holds the water in. That certainly describes what this pond is, a vernal pond. The dry dirt around and on top of the wet mud has got me confused. Could this be the work of a cat? Would a smaller squatch even try to conceal its print this way? Could the dry mud and even the piece of wood be toss back from a cat that is maybe burying scat? I know house cats do this but do cougars do this? I've seen cougar scat so obviously they don't always do this. I don't think this is a squatch print but it is really challenging to figure out just exactly what is is and what animal made it. I still don't see the boot impression but it could certainly be there. Could even be mine or someone elses that was around the area. I was really surprised to see the print outlined cause I totally missed that. |
