I took that promised trip out to the Southern Oregon Bigfoot trap and got some interesting pictures. Mike can you go out to my site and upload whatever looks interesting that people might enjoy seeing? Here is the update of the trip which is also on my site.

Ok so it's not really an expedition. I just like that word as it adds to the fun.

On Saturday I hiked up to the Southern Oregon Big Foot Trap that is reputed to be the only bigfoot trap ever built to try to capture a bigfoot.

The directions had been printed in the paper the week before and I'd gone up there about five years earlier with my daughter but we never found the trap which was just beyond the little cabin that we found. The little old cabin is still there but really pretty much on the ground by now. At the time we thought that was the trap and didn't imagine how anyone could expect that that would hold a big foot.

This time I made it to the cabin again but there were two trails going off and no directions on the trail or in the article as to where the trap was. I'd been told years earlier that the trap was just beyond the cabin. Another family came on the scene as I was trying to figure out which way to go and they were also looking for the trap and we decided to take the trail to the right. Well after about half a mile it was apparent that this was not the way to go so we turned around and went back the other way. They went ahead of me and found the trap and left me directions in the form of an arrow on the trail. Nice folks.

On the way up to the trail the hills are steep around the area and one log that had pretty much rotted away was laying down the hillside and it looked like big foot prints walking up and into the rotted log. Was not able to get much in the way of a decent picture. It was too steep for me to try to do much climbing. Another possible print was taken that was next to a small tree break.

The exciting part for me was finding these tree formations. I tried to get pictures but you almost have to see it. A large tree fell over or was pushed over by something"big" but the large tree did not make it to the ground. It ended up in the branches of other trees. But the tree was wedged between two trees then other trees were pushed over is the only explanation I have for this and the larger tree wedged in the branches and then between two more trees. If it had just happened to fall into the wedge of a tree I could understand but these other trees were pushed way over to "catch" this tree. It was really surreal.
Another tree that was no small willow tree was completely twisted upside down into an N shape or upside down U.

The bigfoot trap had the word "Josh's" carved into it and the word "Free Satch". I'm hoping Josh will get some delight out of that.

At the trap was another HUGE tree that had fallen along with a smaller but still hefty tree next to it. I took a picture of it's root system and this was over my head by a good 3 or 4 feet I think. It missed the trap by about a foot but the other smaller tree did hit the trap and someone had taken a saw and cut it off but it didn't appear to have damaged what is obviously a very well built sturdy trap.

It was a nice workout for me and I hope you enjoy these pictures.

Very interesting! :aplaud:

Looks like the big guy would have to stoop down pretty far to get in the trap.

Thank you two trees. Actually the guy that was with the family took a picture of me in the doorway. I think the tree in front makes the door look lower than it is but it is pretty short door.

Goldie,

Your blog and pictures are fascinating. We have frequently found tree bends and tree limb structures similar to that you have photographed and they always have me scratching my head and thinking "Whiskey Tango Fox-trot."

I personally find the Bf trap to be interesting and would love to hear more about it. How do you think the trap works? What is the trap bait? What is your assessment of the trap’s ability to contain a large Bf? How tall is the trap and it’s opening? ... and any other thoughts you had about the trap

T,

came across a clean tree-break. About 7-8 feet- 3-4 inch trunk at Severn Run. Can't say fer sure wasn't from lightning (no charring at least).

Freaky?!?! :suprised:
