Well, let me go on record for saying this...

I DO carry a firearm...but it's not for THAT purpose. I will not shoot one of these creatures, I truly do not think they are aggresive nor mean to harm anyone. The reason I carry is for the OTHER humans we find in the woods in VA sometimes. Those OTHER humans being people growing illegal drugs or cooking up drugs. They are ready to put you out of existence if they see you, it can be very dangerous to run across those type of folks in the woods.

Now, obviously, if a cougar, bear or something goes for the attack...well if the bear spray doesn't work...you know what I mean.

I do not believe harm should be brought to these creatures, whether they do prove to be human or otherwise.

I think this is a debate that will go on as long as the mystery of bigfoot. It seems to raise about as much controversy as abortion. I would like to say I have a strong position one way or the other, but I really don't. I usually carry a firearm when in the woods, but as Billy pointed out, its really not for our furry friend. I would of course use it in self-defense against any creature, hairy or otherwise. I don't hold any ill feelings towards those that want to get a body. If I were in a position to take a shot, I can't honestly say what I would do. I don't want to kill one, but I would like to know for a fact what it is once and for all. I can also understand the no-kill crowd's feelings on the subject. It seems a pitty and an odd paradox to kill something just to prove it exists. So, there is my rather ambiguous opinion on the matter.
The more I learn, the more I realize...I don't know much.
