Local Newhaven paper this morning reports 'dramatically' improved carryings for January 08 against January 07

Freight: Up over 100% from 2034 lorries to 4301
Cars: Up over 25% from 2662 to 3495
Foot pax: Up over 25% from 6131 to 7757

The north terminal improvements continue, with the new drivers' facilities and a new cafe now open.

Transmanche are aiming to increase the number of foot pax and day trippers this year, and this will include the re-introduction of the passenger bus service from the Dieppe terminal into the town.

Great news for Newhaven Port and Transmanche - this shows that the Newhaven routes are particularly popular with freight.

Any news on if LD and TM will eventually rebrand as one name? So far it looks like they are looking to stay two seperate brands, but this might change.

There is certainly more LD presence when you look at the signs etc these days, but no sign of a full re-brand. Shame, as I'd like to see the twins in something other than nappy yellow.
